Dieser Name passt zu diesem kleinen Elefanten, der einiges durchstehen musste.<\/p>\n<p>Beinahe w\u00e4re er \u00fcbersehen worden, aber als eine Gruppe von Touristen am Abend des 21. August 2022 in der N\u00e4he von Voi am Fluss im Nationalpark von einer Pirschfahrt zur\u00fcckkamen, bemerkten sie in der schon einsetzenden Dunkelheit etwas Seltsames am schlammigen Ufer: Ein winziges Elefantenkalb, erst ein paar Monate alt, m\u00fchte sich vergebens in der matschigen Erde ab.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZZkLQKwFbJk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>Sie alarmierten den Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), der gr\u00fcnes Licht f\u00fcr eine Rettungsaktion gab. Ein so kleines Kalb h\u00e4tte die Nacht h\u00f6chstwahrscheinlich nicht \u00fcberlebt \u2013 bei all den Raubtieren, die es in der Gegend gibt. Offenbar war der kleine Bulle von seiner Herde zur\u00fcckgelassen worden, denn es befanden sich keine anderen Elefanten in der N\u00e4he. Die genauen Umst\u00e4nde werden nie gekl\u00e4rt werden k\u00f6nnen, aber es ist nicht selten, dass in D\u00fcrrezeiten eine Herde gezwungen ist weiterzuziehen, um Futter zu finden. Seine Familie hatte, den Spuren vor Ort nach zu urteilen, noch verzweifelt versucht, ihn herauszuholen, aber musste ihn schlie\u00dflich zur\u00fccklassen, um ihr eigenes \u00dcberleben zu sichern. So w\u00e4re sein Leben beinahe in diesem Matschloch zu Ende gewesen.<\/p>\n<p>Inzwischen war es stockfinster geworden. <strong>Shujaa<\/strong> wurde aus dem Schlamm geholt und schnell zur Auswilderungsstation gebracht, wo er die Nacht in einem gem\u00fctlichen Gehege verbringen konnte. Aber dieser kleine Held \u00fcberstand alles, und schon am ersten Tag fing er an, sich zu erholen.
